A young woman with brown hair and glasses is holding an adapted plush toy.

Meet Katrina Casulla, the Makerspace coordinator, who introduced me to an incredible project using Rotary-donated 3D printers to create custom components for adaptive toys. These toys are designed to be safe and easy to use for kids with disabilities, and they’re a huge hit! Not only do they bring joy to the kids, but they’re also far more affordable than the commercial versions, which is a big relief for parents.

The Creation Nation Makerspace is a fantastic initiative that offers affordable access to a woodshop, apparel design tools, laser cutters, music recording equipment, and more.

And Brandon Rotary Club played its part! Seeing the tools we helped provide being used to make accessible toys for kids? That’s the kind of impact that hits home. (I’m not crying, you’re crying!)
